How we operate

Mapping the social field of Manaus

We combine the survey of the main demands and needs of the local population with permanent monitoring of the work of NGOs, activists and social movements that seek to respond to these demands;

Formation of social investor networks

We structure funds and impact investment tools for philanthropists, companies and national and foreign institutions interested in financially supporting the community development of Manaus, in addition to promoting a culture of donation among the local population;

Technical and financial support for social movements, NGOs and local activists

Under the guidance of a Council made up of community leaders, philanthropists, businesspeople and personalities from the city of Manaus, we select the most relevant initiatives to meet the population's needs, providing them with technical support, financial resources and impact measurement.

Who Supports Us

The Manauara Community Association was created thanks to the support of IDIS (Institute for the Development of Social Investment) and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation within the Transforming Territories Program. The objective of this program is to encourage the creation and strengthening of Institutes and Community Foundations in Brazil, with the engagement of donors and civil society, sharing of knowledge and technical support.

What does a community association do?

Stimulating a culture of donation among the local population is essential to guarantee the long-term sustainability of community foundations and institutes. Find out how philanthropic funds, recently regulated in Brazil, play a crucial role in this context. Endowments, already widely used abroad, are beginning to gain space in our country, allowing for more efficient and transparent management of donated resources. The importance of mapping local demands and integrating social movements, NGOs and activists is highlighted as fundamental to the success of these initiatives.

Discover how collaboration between the community and associations can transform realities and promote a significant socio-environmental impact.
