The Manauara Community Association was created thanks to the support of IDIS (Institute for the Development of Social Investment) and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, within the Transforming Territories Program. The objective of this program is to encourage the creation and strengthening of Institutes and Community Foundations in Brazil, with the engagement of donors and civil society, sharing of knowledge and technical support
IDIS is a non-profit civil society organization, founded in 1999, whose mission is to inspire, support and expand private social investment and its impact, through work with individuals, families, companies, foundations and corporate and family institutes. , as well as civil society organizations in actions that transform realities and contribute to reducing social inequalities in the country.
Charles Stewart Mott Foundation
The Mott Foundation is an American social grantmaker organization, based in Flint (Michigan), founded in 1926 by Charles Stewart Mott, former director and shareholder of General Motors Corporation. More than US$3.2 billion in assets allocated to the development of projects focusing on 4 areas of activity: Civil society, education, environment and Flint community. Mott has supported organizations in more than 62 countries and in 2019 distributed US$133 million in grants.
